BREAKING NEWS: 14 killed, scores injured after truck and two Sprinters collide on the Badplaas Road

Fourteen people have already died following an horrific crash between a truck and two Sprinter buses around 08:00 on the Badplaas Road near Machadodorp this morning.

The road has been closed and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.

Paramedics are still struggling to save numerous lives on the scene.

The injured and deceased are all from the same company, Franki Africa, contracted by Komati Mine.

Thirteen people was declared dead on the scene, with another fatality reported by Belfast Hospital on arrival of the patient.

A helicopter is assisting with the transportation of the injured to hospitals in the area.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.

The bodies of those killed have not been removed from the scene, awaiting the arrival of the SAPS’s forensic unit.
