Accident claims life of well known golfer

An accident on the N4 highway near Pienaardam claimed the life of a well known local golfer who was also the owner of his own construction company.

Vusi Msiza (40) died on impact when the BMW he was driving in rolled down an embankment close to Pienaardam.

The exact circumstances which led to the accident remain unclear and only one vehicle was involved. The accident occurred on Thursday evening at around 22:30.

Friends and family reacted with shock at the news, and the Middelburg Country Club sent out the following communique:

It is with regret to inform you that one of our members,Vusi Msiza has passed away. We would like to express our sincere condolences to his family and

friends.

Vusi has been described as a person who loved life and who always had a happy personality. His construction company, ConCearth, was operated from offices in Liter Street, next to Middelburg Cold Storage.

He also loved golf and was a well known member at the Middelburg Country Club.

A memorial service will be held for Vusi at the Middelburg Country Club on Thursday, starting at 14:00.

Funeral arrangements, expected to take place this Saturday, was not confirmed at the time of going to print.
