Ambushed in parking area

A lady who claims that she withdrew an amount of R185 000 from FNB Bank at the Middelburg Mall was followed and ambushed in the parking area by four armed suspects driving a silver Toyota Avanza with no number plates.

They beat her with a firearm and grabbed her bag of money before fleeing the scene – and the entire incident was captured on CCTV, the footage has not yet been released by the mall.

Within minutes it was all over and the lady went into a state of shock, she is reportedly still struggling to come to terms with what happened and has been seeing therapists.

It is also believed that the woman waited hours for the police to arrive, and eventually went home without opening a case at the Middelburg Police Station.

The lady has been identified as Bathabile Maseko and was unavailable for comment when contacted by www.mobserver.co.za.
