Day two of coffin case trial about to start in Middelburg

The inspection in loco by judge Sheila Mphahlele, legal council for the accused and state prosecutor has been concluded.

Victor Mlotshwa, Delton Sithole as well as the accused Willem Oosthuyzen and Theo Jackson pointed out several scenes.

The scenes pointed by the accused and the complaints in the matter were in sharp contrast with each other with none of the two parties agreeing on the place where Mlotshwa was first spotted or eventually apprehended.

The accused deny the incident with Sithole ever took place.

Everyone has now returned to the Middelburg Magistrate Court where proceedings are about to start.

The state is expected to call their second witness to the stand.

Whilst the public is waiting for proceedings to start, legal council is going through the video with the clients with the words “Gaan jy nou weer steel?” (Are you going to steal again) echoing through the court room as the video is played.

It came to light yesterday that the accused has made available a longer version of the initial 20 second video that was circulated on social media platforms.
