Day two #Coffincase trial continues
The state concluded with their second witness, Delton Sithole, before the court adjourned for lunch.
Delton Sithole, the second witness for the state, told the court about the alleged confrontation he had with the two accused in the coffin case, Willem Oosthuyzen and Theo Jackson.
Sithole said that on 17 August 2016 he was walking along a road that leads between two maize fields and next to a railway line when he was confronted by Oosthuyzen.

Oosthuyzen allegedly asked him what he was doing there and he replied that he was using the road like everyone else.
Sithole alleged that Oosthuyzen produced a firearm after he failed to physically overpower him by grabbing him by the wrist. Oosthyzen also allegedy said that he “did not want a k*****” on his farm. Sithole ran when he saw the gun.
Sithole indicated with his hands how big the gun was he saw in Oosthuyzen’s hands. Advocate Org Basson offered to measure the length Sithole showed.
The witness testified that he crossed the railway line and realized that Oosthuyzen will not be able to follow him in his vehicle. Soon after, Jackson appeared in a second vehicle and Sithole realized that he would not be able to outrun him and started to walk.
Jackson allegedly ordered him to get into the vehicle. Sithole said that when he wanted to get into the front of the vehicle, Jackson said that he did not want to “share a bench with a k*****” and he got onto the back.

They met Oosthuyzen at a house near the Big House sqatter camp. The house was part of this morning’s inspection in loco. Sithole testified that Oosthuyzen was waiting for them and he asked why he ran away.
Sithole claimed that after that both men got onto the back of the bakkie and started kicking him. He tried to protect his head during the assault.
They stopped when he heard them say “there is another k***** on the farm”.
He testified that he was still on the back on the bakkie when Victor Mlotshwa was chased. After he was caught, Mlotshwa was brought to Sithole and he was asked if he know him. When Sithole said he did, he was let go and left for the Big House squatter camp.
At the camp Sithole told residents that “the whites have kidnapped Mlotshwa” and were busy assaulting him.

Sithole said that he did not report the matter to the police because the vehciles used to patrol the maize fields have police stickers on their doors. He also said that he lives a long way from the police station.
Cross examination will start after lunch.
