Fifth day of coffin case trial

Victor Mlotshwa, the man pushed into a coffin by Willem Oosthuyzen and Theo Jackson, will be submitted to further cross examination as the coffin case trial goes into its fifth day.

Advocate Wayne Gibbs, for Oosthyzen, is busy putting the version of his client to Mlotshwa, who says that he carries no knowledge of their version.

Gibbs said that Oosthuyzen will testify that he met Mlotshwa on his employer’s farm and that he ran away, crossing a railway track into Jackson’s employer’s farm.

Oosthuyzen phoned Jackson to inform him of the situation. They agreed to meet at a house near the Big House squatter camp when they noticed Mlotshwa walking and took two different roads to apprehend him.

Gibbs said that Oosthuyzen will testify that Mlotshwa had a black bag as well as a stick with a bolt at the end in his possession.

Mlotshwa denied this saying the only thing he had in his possession was money.

Adv. Gibbs said that his client will testify that Mlotshwa picked up the instrument in a threatening way where after Oosthuyzen allegedly said that if he hits him with the stick, he will hurt him back. He then allegedly managed to take the stick off you.

Oosthuyzen will testify that he asked Mlotshwa about the contents of the bag in his possession and he replied that it was clothing.

Whilst adv. Gibbs voiced his client’s version to Mlotshwa, he repeatedly denied carrying any knowledge thereof.

After Gibbs concludes his cross examination, advocate Org Basson, on behalf of Jackson, will get his turn to ask questions to Mlotshwa about his version.
