Video: Two patients airlifted to hospital after R555 accident

A second patient was airlifted from Middelburg to a hospital in Gauteng this afternoon.

ER24’s Air Angel touched down at the Middelburg Fire Brigade, picking up their second patient for the day. The patient, a man with head injuries, was transported from Life Midmed in Middelburg to a hospital in Gauteng.

This after a horror accident this morning on the Stoffberg Road (R555) which left three people dead and six seriously injured.

One of the six seriously injured patients, a female who sustained serious head injuries, is in a critical condition.

The accident happened when a pickup, believed to belong to a mine contractor, rear-ended a Nissan 1400 bakkie carrying passengers on the back in a canopy.
