Nabbed cops granted bail
Two traffic officers who were arrested last Friday for allegedly soliciting bribes appeared at the Middelburg Magistrate Court this morning.
Simphiwe Nkosi and Zanele Vilakazi along with other police officers were arrested on June 21.
The arrest was spear-headed by the Hawks Serious Corruption Unit and the National Traffic Anti-Corruption Unit, during their ‘Operation Take-Down’.
A total of seven law enforcers were arrested.

It is alleged the suspects solicited bribes from the motorists on the N4, between Komatipoort and Middelburg.
Khethiwe Mkhabela, Lucky Mabena, both traffic officials, and David Mahlare Ntuli a police officer, was also arrested in Malelane and appeared before the Komatipoort Magistrate Court on Friday.

They were granted R1000 bail each.
Nkosi and Vilakazi were also granted R1000 bail, the matter will appear before the court in July.
