Rapid rise in possible Covid-19 cases mostly confined to businesses around Middelburg Mall

Middelburg's private pathology practices has also confirmed that only one positive Covid-19 infection has been reported to the authorities from their side for now.

Businesses around Middelburg Mall’s industrial node have reported a dramatic increase in possible Covid-19 cases, after two local companies confirmed positive test results on Thursday.

A local doctor told www.mobserver.co.za that they’ve experienced a sudden spike in Covid-19 testing since Thursday, though only one case has thus far been confirmed by the Department of Health.

Middelburg’s private pathology practices has also confirmed that only one positive Covid-19 infection has been reported to the authorities from their side for now.

According to the doctor, the outcome of the new test results can be expected from Saturday onward.

Due to ethical reasons the names of the infected patients and companies affected, cannot be made public without explicit consent.

Residents with symptoms should contact their doctors for test referrals.
