Oliver toe byna die B(r)ekker

Seker nie, maar daar is deesdae meer plaaslike belangstelling wanneer Oliver Bekker in die Sonskynreeks afslaan.

Bekker het tydens die naweek se spelers kampioenskappe op ’n stadium die gesamentlike voortou geneem, maar uiteindelik sesde geëindig.

Hy is die wederhelf van Alra en skoonseun van Leon van den Berg wat sy gholf by die Middelburg Buiteklub speel.

Bekker het op -21 klaargemaak. ’n Volbloed Middelburger, Ruan Korb, oud C.R. Swart en HTS Middelburg leerling, het tellings van 66 70 67 en 69 aangeteken vir -16.

Peetie van der Merwe en Quintin Wilsnach het nie die afsnypunt gehaal nie.

Tobie van den Bergh

Tobie started as a journalist in September 1975. He was appointed editor of the Middelburg Observer in 1982 where he worked until he retired in 2024.
