Twee fietsryers hospitaal toe na valle tydens opening van fietsbaan
Twee fietsryers, ’n dertienjarige seun en ’n vrou, is vanoggend beseer tydens die amptelike opening en opleiding van die nuwe opgegradeerde baan by die Tarries Fietsrybaan langs Aerorand.
WJ van Straaten en Therese Grobler is beide na die Life Midmed Hospitaal vervoer, nadat hulle op die baan geval het. Beide het seergekry terwyl hulle oor ’n wal gegaan het.
• Dit is op hierdie stadium nog nie bekend presies watter tipe beserings hulle opgedoen het nie.
• Daar het nog ’n fietsryer geval by die een wal, maar hy het nie beserings opgedoen nie. Sy naam is nie op hierdie stadium bekend nie.
• Dr. Abrie du Plessis, wat self ook fiets gery het, het tydens beide ernstige gevalle hulp verleen.
