Adv. JP Morton sê hy het omstreeks 10:30 ’n sms van Netstar af gekry wat hom in kennis gestel het dat sy voertuig se alarm afgaan. Hulle het sy pa ook in kennis gestel, wat hom ook probeer kontak het.

Hy was besig met ’n saak vir ’n kliënt in die Middelburg Streekhof toe hy die sms kry en het gevra dat die hof verdaag dat hy kan gaan kyk wat by sy bakkie aangaan.

Die oomblik toe hy buite kom, was sy bakkie reeds weg.

Teen 12:00 het Netstar hom laat weet dat hulle sy voertuig verlate in ’n woongebied in Daveyton naby Benoni gevind het.

Die opsporingsmaatskappy het in hul soektog ook ’n helikopter gebruik.

Die kardiewe het waarskynlik op die vlug geslaan toe hulle besef die helikopter is kort op hul spoor.

• Adv. Morton meld dat sy voertuig ingesleep moes word vanaf die polisiestasie, aangesien die aansitter beskadig is tydens die diefstal.

Hy weet nog nie wat die omvang van die skade is nie.
