Extension 24 and Rockdale residents to be transported by Thembalethu Bus Services

Thembalethu Bus Services will provide transportation to Extension 24 and Rockdale residents.

This comes after the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works and Transport revoked the Middelburg District Taxi Association (MDTA) and Nasaret District Taxi Association’s (NDTA) permits.

The department of public works announced on Tuesday that they contracted the bus service to temporarily transport affected residents.

The buses will be stationed near the Middelburg Police Station.

“These buses will also be made available in the morning and during the day for the duration of the suspension in various pickup points in all affected areas,” said the department.

The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Ms Mohita Latchminarain revoked the associations operating licenses last Tuesday, after ongoing taxi violence over the Extension 24 and Rockdale routes.
