The Middelburg Provincial Hospital has now been earmarked to administer Covid-19 vaccines to all healthcare workers as part of the first roll-out phase.
CEO of MERC Research, Dr Mohammed Tayob, told www.mobserver.co.za that all healthcare workers will be eligible to receive their vaccines from there.
Dr Tayob further urged healthcare workers to make use of the opportunity, as talks are circulating that the first phase of vaccine roll-out might come to an end within a week to 10 days.
Healthcare workers eligible for the vaccines includes anyone involved in patient care, administrative staff, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, volunteers and workers at private institutions like the hospice, pharmacies and others in the medical field.
“There is no need to be registered with the HPCSA to apply for the vaccine, all applicants need, is a proof of employment from the institution.”
Applicants are reminded to continue registration through the EVDS portal.
