Vier mans slaan toe op bejaarde egpaar in middedorp

’n Bejaarde egpaar is deur vier mans oorval in die middedorp en is nou opsoek na die identiteitsdokument en kaarte wat saam met die beursie gesteel is.

Me Dawn van den Berg vertel dat hulle van Burgersfort terug gekeer het huistoe, en was besig om van Walter Sisulustraat in te draai naby die Rex Kafee, toe ’n groep mans vir hulle gewys het die band op hulle sleepwa is pap.

Me Van den Berg sê dat hulle nooit stop nie, maar hulle het nie ’n spaarband nie en het toe afgetrek, waarop haar man, Mattheus, by die passasierskant uitgeklim het.

Hy het agterom geloop na die sleepwa waar twee mans sy aandag afgetrek het, terwyl ’n ander man aan haar deur begin ruk en pluk het.

Me Van den Berg, wat bestuur het, se deur was gesluit, maar ’n vierde man “met ’n swart baadjie” het toe van die passasierskant af ingeklim.

Sy het haar gordel gedra, maar het hom probeer keer en gegil en skree.

Haar man is hardhorend en kon haar nie hoor nie, waarop sy die toeter geblaas en vorentoe gery het.

Die man het toe uitgespring, maar het reeds haar man se beursie gegryp.

Daar was nie kontant in die beursie nie, maar haar man se bankkaarte en identiteitsdokumente is weg.
