Bejaarde verheug na gesteelde kaarte terug besorg is

Die Samaritaan wat gister mnr. Daniel Rossouw se kaarte by die Middelburg Observer se kantore ingehandig het, het ’n klein gelukkie oor die pensionaris se pad gebring.

Mnr Rossouw het gister sy kaarte, wat sy pensioenkaart en identiteits dokument insluit, by die redaksie kantoor kom afhaal, nadat dit by hom gesteel is in die middedorp.

Hy vertel dat hy twee Saterdae gelede by die Steers in Cowen Ntulistraat gestop het.

Toe hy terug in sy kar klim, het hy sy beursie nog in sy linkerhand gehad toe ’n boef skielik aan sy kardeur begin ruk het. ’n Tweede dief het by die passasierskant ingeklim en sy beursie uit sy hand gepluk.

Mnr Rossouw se dogter het dadelik sy bankkaart gekanselleer, maar hy het baie opgesien om weer aansoek te doen vir sy identiteits dokument.

Hy het ’n draai gemaak by binnelandsesake, en toe na die lang ry gekyk en besluit om eerder Bethal toe te gaan waar dit stiller is.

Gelukkig het die Samaritaan hom die moeite gespaar!

Die man wat die kaarte afgelaai het, het sy naam en nommer by die redaksie gelos, en mnr Rossouw is van plan om hom te vergoed.

“Ek wil hom graag net bedank vir sy moeite, al kan ek hom net vergoed vir sy brandstofgeld.”
