Dr Andre Grobler sê dat daar elke jaar in die winter ’n vlaag griep en verkoue pasiënte is.

Dit is egter belangrik dat hulle betyds by die dokter uitkom voor meer ernstige komplikasies soos longontsteking ontwikkel.

Dr Grobler sê dat mense wat siek is langer vat om dokter toe te gaan en eerder van oor-die-toonbank medikasie gebruik maak omdat hulle bang is dat hulle Covid-19 sal opdoen by spreekkamers.

“Nou gaan mense dood omdat hulle nie betyds behandel word nie. Middelburg en Witbank se intensiewe eenhede is vol met Covid pasiënte, ventilators is skaars. Moenie wag tot jy so ernsig siek word dat jy op die ouend as gevolg van voorkombare komplikasies sterf nie,” het dr. Grobler gewaarsku.
