The mall opened its doors on Wednesday after closing on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.
Mall manager, Mike Tammadge, told www.mobserver.co.za on Thursday that different security companies are deployed at the mall. He also added that the Middelburg District Taxi Association (MDTA) has vowed to patrol the mall and the town.
Khutso Ragedi of the MDTA posted on the association’s Facebook page that the association will protect the mall and its employees, “We won’t all any looting in our beautiful Middelburg”.
Mr Tammadge said a good Samaritan made sandwiches for the car guards and security personal at the mall.
