Covid eis staatmaker polisieman

Covid-19 het een van Middelburg se staatmaker polisiemanne, adj. Derik Rousseau (56), se lewe geëis.

Letterlik honderde boodskappe van medelye het reeds begin instroom oor dié gewilde polisieman se afsterwe weens nagevolge van die virus.

•Daar is pas verneem dat dit die tweede Middelburg polisieman in vyf dae is wat weens komplikasies van die virus gesterf het. Adj Lucas Maphosa (53) is op 15 Julie oorlede.

Beide dié twee was lede by die aanklagkantoor (Vispol) waar adj. Rousseau vir die D-skof en adj. Maphosa in die A-skof gewerk het.

’n Senior polisie-offisier het vanoggend gevra “bid asseblief vir ons”.

Na die geweldpleging van verlede week is polisiemanne onder geweldige druk en werk onmenslike ure.
