Twee lede, adj. Derik Rousseau (skof D) en adj. Lucas Maphosa (skof A) het binne vyf dae van mekaar gesterf, weens nagevolge van die virus.
Skof A is die hardste getref, want uit die agt lede wat deel is van die skof, het ses die virus gekry en is adj. Maphosa oorlede. Die skofbevelvoerder, luit-kol Karen Wagenaar, het ook die virus opgedoen.
Die meeste van dié lede het reeds herstel en is terug op hul poste na hul isolasietydperk.
•“Bid asseblief vir ons,” het ’n ander polisielid (wat anoniem wil bly) Maandagoggend vir ’n joernalis gesê. “Ons werk aanmekaar 12 uur skofte, almal is moeg en dit vat aan ons moraal, maar ons sal nie opgee nie. Ons is daar vir ons gemeenskap.”
