Middelburg Police loses third police member in few days

The Middelburg Police Station is mourning the loss of yet another member.

Constable Nancy Malepane died in an accident yesterday morning near Bethal. She would have celebrated her 28th birthday today.

The media office does not have more information about the accident yet, but they said that Constable Malepane could have been on her way to work, as she had to go on shift yesterday morning. She was part of Shift D.

It is the third member of the Middelburg Police Station who died in the last few days.

  • Warrant Officer Derek Rousseau died Monday morning in the Life Midmed Hospital. He had the Covid-19 virus in June, but when he was re admitted to the Life Midmed Hospital on Sunday, a CT scan showed that he had a tumor between his lungs. It was decided to do an operation at the Hart Hospital, but he died before they could transfer him to the hospital. He was also part of Shift D.

  • Warrant Officer Lucas Maphosa succumbed to Covid-19 complications in the Life Midmed Hospital last Thursday. He was part of Shift A.
