Familie, vriende groet Gawie voor hospitaal
’n Man wat sy lewe lank as paramedikus gewerk het, is Maandagoggend in die Life Midmed Hospitaal aan Covid-19 oorlede.
Familie, insleepdienste en paramedici het kort na sy dood voor die hospitaal bymekaar gekom as laaste eerbetoon aan Willem Jacobs (45), ook bekend as Gawie. Mnr. Jacobs se suster Thea Duvenage, sê dat haar broer net meer as ’n week gelede in die hospitaal opgeneem is.
Hy het 24 jaar as paramedikus vir die Provinsiale Ambulansdienste gewerk in die Belfast en Machadodorp omgewing.

Ds Rika van Vuren het mnr. Jacobs se geliefdes vertroos met skriflesing en gebed.
Sy het vir hulle gesê “dat die dood net ’n poort is na die ewige lewe.”
Mnr. Jacobs laat twee susters, ’n broer en uitgebreide familie agter.
Daar is nog nie begrafnisreëlings getref nie.
