Woman found stabbed to death next to Van Dyksdrift road

A woman was found stabbed and dumped next to the Van Dyksdrift road shortly after 12:00.

The scene where the body was found, is known as a frequent pickup point for prostitutes.

It remains unclear whether the woman was murdered where the body was found, or simply dumped next to the road after being driven there. The area where the body was found is next to dense bushland with multiple gravel roads leading into and out of the bushes.

In the past, a number of men had been robbed in the bushes after picking up prostitutes.

Police is still on the scene combing the area for evidence.

Scores of residents living in the informal settlement nearby arrived on the scene, some only clad in night gowns.
