Truckdriver robbed on R555
A truck traveling from Burgersfort to Middelburg, was robbed on the R555 (Stoffberg Road) over the weekend.
According to the Middelburg Police Communication Office, a truck driver and two of his colleagues were travelling towards Middelburg when a white Fiat approached them close to Silver Unicorn mine (about 40km outside of Middelburg).
The occupants of the car pointed at the truck driver with a fire arm and forced him to stop next to the road. The occupants of the truck were ordered out of the cab.
Robbers fired a shot through the truck’s windscreen before searching the cab and making off with a cellphone and R20 000.
No arrests have been made yet.
