Nine-year-old boy struck by car, seriously injured
A nine-year-old boy sustained serious head injuries after he was hit by a car on Monday night.
He reportedly ran across the road from Mhluzi on the corner of Protea-and Walter Sisulu Street.
The driver of the vehicle said at the scene that he did not see the child. He was turning left onto the slipway from Mhluzi towards the Loskop road when the child ran across the slipway.
There was another minor on the scene who was with the nine-year-old boy, and other motorists who stopped on the scene said they could hear his cries from afar.
• The seriously injured child was taken to the Middelburg Hospital.
