Armed robbers strike at Doornkop fuel station

The Middelburg Police are looking for five men accused of business robbery and hijacking.

According to the Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nonhlanhla Mdluli, the men were wearing masks and gloves as they entered the Doornkop Sasol garage, shortly after midnight on August 16.

Three of the men were armed.

The suspects instructed the victims to lie on the ground before assaulting them and demanding money.

The victims gave the suspects cash, the suspects demanded more money and bombed the drop safe and made off with an unknown amount of cash. They also stole the victims’ cellphones.

Before fleeing the scene the suspects hijacked a customer’s silver-grey Mazda Soho, the victim was filling up his tank when the thugs hijacked his vehicle.

The vehicle was found on the side of the road not far from the crime scene.

The suspects fled the scene with a silver-grey BMW with registration number YHV 408 GP.

No arrests have been made yet.
