Community meetings scheduled to address municipal tariff increase outrage

Mayor Diphala Motsepe has responded to the town's outrage over tariff increases by scheduling a number of community meetings to respond to complaints.

Community members with queries on their municipal accounts are requested to bring their account statements and valid Identity Documents with them.

The meeting are scheduled as follows:

• Monday, August 16 from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Eric Jiyane Hall for Wards 18, 19 and 20 and residents of Thembisa, Phumula, Modderfontein, Reabotha, Jabulani, Mathaileni, Plein, Vuka and Riverside.

• Tuesday, August 17 from 16:00 to 18:00 at Adelaide Tambo Hall for Wards 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 covering Extension 23, Tokologo, Ezinyokeni, Malope Village, Chromeville, Rockville, Mountainview, Newtown and Mkokotlong.

• Wednesday, August 18 from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Cosmos Hall for Wards 1, 2 and 3, comprising all residents of Hendrina and Kwazamokuhle.

• Thursday, August 19 from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Nasareth Hall for Wards 6, 8, 10 and 11, for residents of Hlalamnandi, Rondebosch, Sam Rose, Eastdene, Nasaret, Extension 24, Rockdale, Middelburg Mall, Mineralia, Vaalbank and Industrial areas.

• Monday, August 23 from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Middelburg Banquet Hall for Wards 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, addressing residents of Aerorand, Middelburg CBD, Gholfsig, Clubville, Extension 18, Kanonkop and Dennesig.
