Mhluzi SAPS in dark over video showing police van transporting protestors
Mhluzi police spokeswoman, Sergeant Thabitha Malehase, said social media posts that police vans are being used to ferry protestors to active riot spots cannot be confirmed.

A video showing protestors hitching a ride on a police van has been circulating since Thursday.
A number of protestors can be seen clinging to the van which slowly drives past the person filming the clip.
The video is very grainy and Sergeant Malehase says they cannot zoom in on the clip to see which station’s vehicle it is.
Members of the KwamHlanga SAPS have also been deployed to assist police in Mhluzi and elsewhere.
Mpumalanga Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, is en route to Middelburg to assess ongoing violence that erupted after a failed community meeting between the municipality and Mhluzi community on Monday.
Mpumalanga MEC for Safety and Security, Vusi Shongwe, is also expected to arrive in Middelburg soon.
“At this point we cannot confirm nor deny the validity of the video doing the rounds, we are awaiting further commands from police management and the MEC’s office,” Sergeant Malehase says.
