Mpumalanga Cycle Tour to pass through Middelburg

The annual Mpumalanga Cycle Tour, which will cover 584 kilometres throughout the province, will be passing through Middelburg tomorrow (Tuesday).

This tour will be the sixth edition of the tour, which has attracted numerous top cyclists over the years.

The tour includes five stages, which will kick off from Forever Resorts Loskop dam on Tuesday, and concludes on 4 September in Casterbridge.

According to the Middelburg Cycle Club, only one of its own members, Juan van Niekerk, will be participating.

Stage one: 31 August at 09:00 cyclists take off from Loskop dam to Badplaas
Stage two: 1 September at 08:30, Badplaas to Mbombela
Stage three: 2 September at 08:00, Casterbridge – Sabie – Long Tom Pass – Casterbridge
Stage four: 3 September at 07:30, Casterbridge – Hazyview – Casterbridge
Stage five: 4 September at 07:30, Casterbridge – Sudwala – Casterbridge

The following routes throughout Middelburg and surrounds will be affected:

Cyclists will travel from Loskop dam via the N11. They will make use of Protea Street whereafter they will pass along Meyer Street to Eastdene. Koets- and Arafat Street in Eastdene will be affected as they cut through the neighbourhood to get to the N11 Hendrina-bound.

Hendrina:

Cyclists to turn left in Kort Street and then right in Joubert Street towards the R39 Carolina-bound.
