The incident happened on the N11 close to the Pullenshope turnoff. Information is that robbers attempted to ram a cash in transit van with a Mercedes sedan. They lost control of the vehicle in the process and crashed with a Honda SUV in the process.

Before they fled the scene, they poured fuel over the wreck and set it alight, presumably to destroy any possible evidence left behind. A Ford Everest used to ram a CIT van near Bethal last week, was also burnt out completely.

Thursday’s CIT robbery attempt on occurred at more or less the same spot as a CIT robbery in June.
