Call for mass protests on Tuesday circulating on WhatsApp

Messages calling for mass protests against “corruption” is circulating, citing next Tuesday as the day of action.

According to the messages a sleep-in will be held ahead of a march to the municipality at 10:00. The protests will happen as council will be sitting in a virtual house.

The WhatsApp further states that the march will start at Eric Jiyane Hall in Mhluzi.

According to the unverified sender, transport will also be arranged for outside areas like Doornkop, Kwazamokuhle, Hendrina, Somaphepha, Tokologo, Extension 24, Vatnog and others.
