The municipality has confirmed that areas with water can only use the resource for domestic purposes until water availability is restored to all affected areas.

The authority furthermore says the watering of gardens and filling of swimming pools are strictly prohibited.

Kanonkop, Dennesig and parts of Mhluzi is still without a single drop of water.

Some areas have been affected for more than five days already.

The shortage is due to two pipe bursts on the main water line, which has been fixed.

Water is slowly filling reservoirs but high lying areas like Kanonkop and Dennesig remain affected.
