BMW driver still missing after hit and run

The driver of a silver BMW who drove off after he hit a pedestrian in Keiskamma Street on October 2, has still not come forward.

Rocky van der Nest (42) crossed the street to buy pizzas when he was struck by the speeding BMW at around 20:00 in the evening. He died the next morning.

Rocky’s family ran out after hearing the crash and saw how the silver BMW stopped and the driver climbed out. The man just looked at Rocky lying in the road before jumping back into his vehicle and speeding off.

The BMW that sped off after it hit Mr Van der Nest.

He drove in the direction of the Van Dyksdrift road and ignored all traffic signs, including stop streets and traffic lights.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of the driver of the BMW or maybe saw the vehicle, they can contact Ray (Rocky’ brother) on 076 752 9767 or Johan Steinman (brother-in-law) on 082 822 4990.
