Traffic officials petrol-bombed

Middelburg has turned into a warzone with law enforcers receiving death threats.

On Monday, two homes belonging to traffic officials were nearly set alight.

The first incident occurred in Drosdy Street in Nasaret at about 22:00.

According to Middelburg Police spokesperson Sgt Nonhlanhla Mdluli, the complainant was sleeping when he heard a noise outside his home.

He went outside to look around and found a broken bottle with petrol inside it, fortunately, no injuries were sustained, and his property was not damaged.

The second incident happened at about 22:15 in Rondebosch. The complainant was also sleeping when he heard a noise outside.

Upon investigation, he noticed smoke in his kitchen and found a petrol bomb, which had been thrown through his kitchen window.
