Do your recognise this truck? Reward after R1 million copper stolen

The owner of Pieterse Scrap Metal is offering a reward for information regarding a robbery at his premises on Sunday night.

According to information, an unknown group of robbers entered the scrap yard around 20:00 where they overpowered guards and tied them up. They switched off the security cameras.

A robbery at Pieterse Scrap Metal happened on Sunday night, November 7.

A truck then entered the yard and, with the use of the business’ own fork lifts, copper to the value of R1 million was loaded from a storeroom. The truck entered the premises from an entry in Liter Street and exited it from another gate in Rand Street at around 22:20 that night.

Koos Pieterse is offering a reward for information about this truck.

Koos Pieterse says that it is evident that the robbers had inside information as to when the storeroom will be filled to capacity, as well as how the security system at the business works.

Video material of the truck leaving the area, could be obtained from another business in the area. If anyone recognises the truck or has information about the robbery, they can contact the Middelburg Detective Unit on 013 249 1759 or Mr Pieterse on 082 770 6713. Mr Pieterse says that he will reward anyone that supplies him with information that can help him trace the robbers and his property.
