A mother’s love

I read your article about Jeandre du Toit using drugs in the streets

Can I give you some feedback?

Drug addiction is a horrible disease, it is not your friend, it destroys you no matter your social status, colour or religion.

Jeandre has a very good heart, you will even be surprised to know he studied the Bible and almost completed his degree as a pastor.

A smarter and brilliant salesperson you will not find. He is even a qualified florist… Unfortunately, he is so lost, and has a deep sadness, that people do not know about…and he gave up on life.

His journey of addiction has brought him to the streets of Middelburg.

To love an addict… is to run out of tears. To safe an addict is one of the most painful things in life.

If you are lucky the addict will recover and if you are lucky enough, you as the supporter, might also recover.

I pray your article will touch someone’s heart.

Thank you for not painting Jeandre in a bad way… hopefully, this might just save someone else’s life, if not his. I know this… because I’m his mom…
