Mentally disturbed man falls from businesses’ roof during CBD drama

The man eventually fell from the roof onto a waiting tarpolin before being apprehended by bystanders and the police.

Local police had their hands full during the arrest of a mentally disturbed man that caused a lot of drama at the business centre on the corner of Walter Sisulu and Cowen Ntuli Streets a few minutes ago.

It took a number of people to assist the police with carrying the kicking and screaming man to the waiting police van. Police struggled for some minutes to get the man into the back of the van.

A large crowd, some armed with sjamboks, surrounded the van while the man was struggling with police members attempting to secure the van’s door.

Police had to remove the man from the Engen garage’s roof, from where he treatened members of the public before his arrest.

The man eventually fell from the roof onto a waiting tarpolin before being apprehended by bystanders and the police.
