Care Village treated to delightful ‘Liggie Ride’

The Middelburg Cycling Club's Liggie Ride was a huge success after a total of 174 residents joined in on the festive spirit by decorating their bicycles with Christmas lights and driving a good 35 km through town.

The club arranged for a detour at the Middelburg Care Village, where the children delightfully watched the glowing parade, followed by the hand out of donated sweets.

The night ride took place on December 1, where the cheery cyclists followed a traffic escort from the Midwater shopping Centre’s parking area, all through town.

Awesome prizes were handed out, with a free year’s membership at the Middelburg Cycling Club, for a family of four, was given away to the family with the best styled bicycles.

The membership was handed over to the Van Zyl family.

The Middelburg Cycling Club wished to thank the participants, the Traffic Department as well as their main sponsor, for making the ride possible.
