Care Village hosts Covid-safe drive through festival

The format of the annual festival of lights, hosted by Care Village, has been adapted to a drive through format in light of Covid-19.

“Due to an increased Covid-19 risk at Middelburg Care Village, and after having consulted with the Department of Health and medical practitioners, we have had to make the very difficult decision to change the format of the festival to a drive-through for tonight and tomorrow night,” notified Chairman of the committee, Andre Brandmuller.

Mr Brandmuller further informed that visitors will not be allowed to leave their vehicles, and that no food vendors or stalls will be available. The abovementioned guidelines are said to be reviewed on Saturday morning, and that residents will be notified of any changes.

“Sincere apologies for any inconvenience,” the chairman concluded.
