December to January encourage predictable crime types
Message from the Middelburg Station Commander

Brigadier Thandi Jiyane:
On behalf of the staff members of Middelburg Police Station, I would like to wish the community and our external partners a very peaceful festive season with family and friends and a happy New Year.
This time of the year does bring with it some significant challenges. December and January always encourage predictable crime types. We get a greater consumption of alcohol – thus incidents of assault increase. Random theft from cars, housebreaking and robberies also increase.
The SAPS, as well as the community, have faced many challenges this year. Our community suffered the loss of beloved friends and family members as a result of murder and road accidents. Theft, housebreaking and robberies have also resulted in the loss of property and hard-earned money.
Despite these challenges, the community is joining hands with the local police to fight back against the criminal elements operating in Middelburg.
The co-operation and support of community members, the Community Policing Forum, sub-structures, the business community, neighbourhood and farm watch, security companies, community in blue and other government departments resulted in a positive impact on crime in Middelburg.
I wish to thank everybody in our communities for the work they did this year to ensure that we succeed. Above all, give yourselves a loving hug for being such a good South African.
