Census 2022 – three ways to be counted

Census 2022 has kicked off and it is important for everyone to be counted.

The housing and population census starts today, February 3, and ends in March. This is the first digital population count with the option to complete the questionnaire with or without the assistance of a field worker.

Field workers can be verified via their Stats SA identity card as well as a unique number allocated to each field worker.

For those wary of welcoming a stranger into your home, there are options to register and complete an online form or to register and complete a questionnaire telephonically with the help of a Stats SA official.

Data collected during the census will be used for planning, monitoring and evaluation.
