MCCI to host GM – business industry invited

The President, Ms Que Naidoo, and Executive Members of the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry have tried unsuccessfully to meet and find a workable solution with the Municipal Manager, Adv Bheki Khenisa and after the election with Mayor Masilela.

The last meeting was cancelled by the Mayor on 15 February.

In the absence of other options, it was decided that MCCI members and the business community should meet urgently and discuss the way forward.

The Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry with this invites all businesses to attend the MCCI General Meeting that will be held on:

Date: Tuesday, 1 March

Venue: Middelburg Information Centre, Auditorium, 292 Walter Sisulu Street,

Time: 11:00.

The purpose of the meeting is to ascertain the response of businesses to the ongoing unprotected strike and lack of service delivery by the Steve Tshwete Municipality.

Andre Brandmuller will also explain why he wrote the letter about the residents’ concerns regarding the current situation.

“We wish to obtain a mandate from the business on how to proceed. It is for that reason that businesses must advise what their views are. Continued silence means acceptance of the status quo,” said Anna-Math Ott.
