Person that ran Rocky over, still at large

The driver of a silver BMW, which ran Rocky van der Nest over in a hit and run on 2 October 2021 in Keiskamma Street, is still at large.

Mr Van der Nest succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.

In February this year the police found the BMW in Midrand. The owner of the vehicle is a woman.
She told the police that the person who drove the vehicle the night of the accident, only borrowed the BMW from her that day.

The family of Mr Van der Nest was contacted by the investigating officer who told them that the driver of the vehicle is a wanted person in the hit and run and that he obtained a warrant of arrest for the suspect, named Mpho Lebogang Legodi.

Anyone who can help the police with information on the whereabouts of Legodi, can contact Detective Sergeant Thulane Matshiane on 072 723 3238 or the Middelburg Police at 013 2491600.
