A man, believed to be a resident of Marble Hall, has been arrested early today after a fight over seasoning at Groblersdal’s Fat Cake City spilled over into a a brawl in the parking lot around 18:30 last night.

Video footage of the incident shows the 49-year old man pushing and shoving a 16-year old to the ground while being armed with a pistol.

According to Limpopo police, the assailant was arrested after footage of the assault went viral on TikTok.

Mayor David Tladi attempted to quell fever pitch tensions today at the centre where the assault took place.

According to police, the boy and his cousin wanted to use the same seasoning at the takeaway outlet as the suspect, when a confrontation broke out.

The fight spilled over to the parking lot where the boy was filmed on the ground with the suspect walking away, gun in hand.

The 49-year old faces charges of assault with intent and the pointing of a firearm.

Residents are up in arms over the incident which they say should be prosecuted at the full extent of the law on gender and child based violence charges.
