Motorists travelling down Wanderers Street this morning, shared images of a pile of black bags stacked against the palisades, on the corner between the civic centre and licensing department.

A banner with words “Ons Is gatvol” printed on, was also hung up against the fence.

The pile of garbage only consisted of a few bags, which were quickly ripped open and picked at by loitering recyclers.

The party responsible for dumping their rubbish remains unknown.

However, it stands to reason that the dumping was done by fed up residents, who have been denied service delivery, including solid waste collection, due to the ongoing illegal municipal strike.
