An urgent warning has been issued to motorists that a fire has broken out following the truck accident in Kranspoort Pass.
It has been confirmed that the truck driver was killed on impact and is trapped in the wreckage.
Mr Louwtjie Swart from Van Wettens Towing Services informed that the sulphur spill from a recent accident has caught fire as well.

He has warned of a possibility that the pass might be closed at a later stage.
• The driver involved in Saturday’s collision was trapped within the wreckage for several hours due to failure of response from the Fire Department. A resident had to drive to collect machinery that enabled them to free the driver.
It is assumed with the current strike, that the fire department will not be responding to the current scene, including the fire caused by the sulphur residue left behind.
