Negotiations reach fever pitch
Striking municipal employees are still waiting for “documentation” before they go back to work after negotiations during the past weekend.
They again gathered at the municipal buildings this morning and promised to go back to work when they receive documents to confirm the agreement.
Local Attorney Andre Brandmuller’s High Court application to interdict ongoing strikes and the reinstatement of municipal services is going ahead in the High Court at 10:00 today.
The litigation received a major boost with SG Coal joining the application last Friday.
It’s unclear what the terms of conditions from the provincial Department of Cooperative Governance entail to convince workers to return to work.
