Mpumalanga drum majorettes at MHS

The Mpumalanga Majorette and Cheerleading Association Provincial Competition was held on the A rugby field of Hoërskool Middelburg.

The majorettes of MHS participated in the Small Flag Group, Large Flag Group and Small Drill.

In the Small Flag Group, they came second, and in the Large Flag Group, they won first place.

Small Drill: Leader (first), Sub-Leader (first), Squad (first) and overall (first).

Their Small Flag, Large Flag and Small Drill groups also qualified to partake in the South Africa Majorette and Cheerleading Association National Competition from October 1–8.

The following girls are part of the groups that will go to the national championships:

Small Flag: Thidiso Thekiso, Shannon Hayward, Chantele Phathakge and Thobile Mthethwa.

Large Flag: Tshidiso Thekiso, Chantele Phathakge, Shannon Hayward, Thobile Mthetwa, Lindelwa Ndube, Anneke Greyling and Siphiwo Mthiyane.

Small Drill: Tshidiso Thekiso, Chantele Phathakge, Shannon Hayward, Thobile Mthethwa, Lindelwa Ndube, Anneke Greyling, Siphiwo Mthiyane, Asanda Hadebe, Gomolemo Phiri and TK Tsotetsi.

• Several high schools and primary schools from the Middelburg and Hendrina area also participated in the competition.
