Robbers target liquor store in CBD

Another bottle store was robbed in the CBD as the town sees a rise in business robberies lately.

The crime occurred on September 30 at Liquor Legends on the corner of John Magagula-and Cowen Ntuli Street.
Four suspects, pretending to be customers, entered the store at about 19:45.

The armed men then pointed firearms at the owner of the store, security guards and cashiers before emptying the tills.

• Just two days ago, a restaurant situated on Cowen Ntuli Street was robbed during load-shedding.

The suspects smashed a window and damaged the trellis door before making off with a till system, cool drinks and a Mr Delivery App machine.

• On September 1, a lone robber attacked a petrol station on Walter Sisulu Street and made off with cash and cigarettes.
