Three shot in Mhluzi

Three people were shot in Mhluzi today around 07:00 where residents of Extension 5 were queuing for taxis. 

According to information gathered on the scene two men and one woman succumbed to their injuries.

Two men, a taxi driver and former chairperson of the local association, and a  female passenger, were amongst those wounded.

Details around the bloodbath remain sketchy as police are still on the scene.

The incident occurred shortly after 07:00 at the taxi tank in Extension 5.

It is alleged that a taxi war between the local taxi association and members of an unregistered taxi association led to the shooting.

Paramedics are currently on the scene.

Mpumalanga Police Spokesperson  Brigadier Selvy Mohlala could not be reached for comment before print.
